Aurelia Aurita

With bells and tendrils,
Delicate and terrible,
They float in the seas like
Luminescent parasols.

But hungry and hollow
Are Medusa’s daughters,
Euclidean ghosts that
Haunt the dark waters.

With tissue paper heartbeats,
Cellophane intelligence
They hunt the depths with
Invisible malevolence.
